Project Concept Evaluations

Jahniene Jackson:

  1. I think the collateral piece that she chose worked well, but I also suggested that she include some sort of specific social media advertising.
  2. She needed to explore more options for her sketches.
  3. The user experience stories seemed realistic, she just needed to complete the stories with how the users actually downloaded or subscribed to the bucketlist magazine.
  4. I mentioned to her that she could also possibly include some sort of incentive for current app users to promote their achievements socially.
  5. Yes the fact that she's marketing to a more mature audience, It was fitting for her to use a more sophisticated feel and less light hearted.


Maria Rovayo:


  1. The collateral pieces would reach her audience well because nutrition is a topic that is talked about a lot online and the social media ads would work perfectly for that.
  2. She was still working on doing more sketches.
  3. The user experience stories seemed like they worked well. 
  4. Her collateral worked well with her story.
  5. Her tone and color choices were very fitting because of the earthy feel she was leaning towards. 


Lacey Rabidue:




  1. The collateral pieces would reach her audience well because they are aimed at people who tend to have a more free-spirited and laid back attitude.
  2. She had some good sketches so far but was still working on more.
  3. The user experience stories worked really well with how the users came across the advertisements and engaged with it. 
  4. Her collateral worked well with her story, I dont think there was any other way that she needed to explore.
  5. Her tone and color choices were very fitting, the minimalistic feel of the app would help aid people with the large amount of content that the app has. 

Week 7 Graphic: Intended Collateral

Collateral Sets: For my project the 3 sets that I chose are going to be, an app interface, social media advertising, and either guerrilla marketing or promotional table tent restaurant advertising.


User Stories: 
– Elena was out to dinner with her friend Karla and they saw a promo table tent on their table advertising the Buckeat List App and Karla was excitedly mentioned how she gets to check another restaurant off her "Buckeatlist app", Elena had never heard of it so Karla pulled the app up on her phone to show Elena what she was talking about. Elena was immediately interested once she saw the sleek modern design of the app interface. She scrolled through Karla's list and noticed many restaurants that she'd never even heard of, and many were conveniently located near her condo. She immediately scanned the popup tent on the restaurant table which prompted the Buckeat List app to download on her phone.

– Ryan was out running errands over the weekend when he remembered he needed to make a quick stop at a local outdoor mall for a new outfit for his date that night. As he jumped on the bus he noticed the large quirky bus ad across the side for the Buckeat List app because of their funny tagline. Although he didn't have time to see the ad fully, he was able to remember it later that afternoon. As he walked around the mall he noticed a large guerilla marketing campaign in the middle of the walkway. Because he remembered seeing it on the bus earlier that day he decided to walk up to it to get more info. Knowing that he didnt have a set restaurant in mind for his dinner date he decided to download the app to get local suggestions. After his date that night, his girlfriend mentioned how she had no idea that the restaurant he chose existed and he mentioned that he found it from his app and how easy it was, and she was excited to download it for herself to start checking off her restaurant bucketlist.

Tone/Style Exploration: My app will have a very modern style but I also want to keep it lighthearted and quirky as well because of the social aspect. While friends are interacting and keeping up with each others updates I want them to feel as if they are actually interacting with each other personally as friends would.

Target Audience Research



Project Concept Proposal

My project will be an phone app that will serve as a "restaurant bucketlist" for individuals to save restaurants to their own personal list. They will be able to filter through a set amount of preferences to narrow down restaurants that they'll most likely want to eat at. It will also serve as a social platform as well, their friends reviews & suggestions will be viewable so that new restaurants can be added. This app will combine features from several other apps that are already out there but lack in some ways, such as Yelp, Groupon, & Scoutmob.
